Just days after news broke that her last doctor's visit did not go well, Nikki Bella underwent spinal fusion surgery today (Jan. 27) to correct the herniated disc in her neck.
WWE.com caught up with the longest reigning Divas champ in history as she prepared for the operation. Bella seems to be in good spirits; discussing the plate and screws which will be surgically implanted during the procedure, she joked, "I will officially be The Bionic Woman: Unstoppable and unbreakable."
She acknowledges there's a long and uncertain road ahead of her, however:
I'm going to have to be in a neck brace for three months. I won't be able to travel and during those three months, we'll start to see if the bone is accepting the fusion [with X-rays], but I will not be able to set foot in a wrestling ring for six months.
Nikki's family and loved ones have been Tweeting pictures and well-wishes pre-op:
