Chris Jericho talks character, Nikki Bella gets a shoutout and The Rock & Royal Rumble highlight WWE on ESPN

ESPN.com

As you'd expect. this week's "Off the Top Rope", ESPN SportsCenter's regular Tuesday feature on WWE, was heavy on the return of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and the action from January 24's Royal Rumble pay-per-view (PPV).

In addition to the Great One's interactions with The New Day (and Rick Ross), Triple H's WWE championship victory and the debut of AJ Styles were shown. Jonathon Coachman also put over Dean Ambrose and Kevin Owens in a big way, with multiple highlights from their Last Man Standing contest on PPV, and the Intercontinental titleholder's table spot with Roman Reigns & Rusev, as well as his upcoming Fastlane Triple Threat main event.

Chris Jericho then joined his old pal Coach, and The Rock was their segue to talking about the importance of microphone work and character to making it in sports entertainment. They also ran down Y2J's many nicknames and catchphrases, as well as his numerous endeavors outside of wrestling.

The host took it home with an update on Nikki Bella's injury and a shout out to Total Divas star to get well soon.

He's not made much of an impression on the internet crowd in his latest return, but Jericho acquits himself nicely here and shows why he's a valued member of WWE's team.
