We're just over three weeks away from the Royal Rumble on Sun., Jan. 24, 2016, at the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida and announcements are coming on entrants for the match. Big Show revealed he is in on Raw this past Monday night and Curtis Axel was revealed on WWE.com just yesterday.
We can reasonably expect that each member of The New Day -- Big E, Xavier Woods, Kofi Kingston -- will also be in the match, despite the fact that they're tag team champions. They defend those titles under the Freebird Rule and, in a recentinterview with the Corpus Christi Caller Times, Kingston introduced the idea of a "New Day Rule" as it pertains to the Rumble, or if one of them can take the WWE world heavyweight championship Roman Reigns:
"If one of us wins, we got that 'New Day' rule.' Holla holla!"
That could make for an interesting way around the old "teammates turn on each other" story we get in nearly every Rumble match: If any member of New Day wins, they're all eligible for a title shot. It would take some explaining, but why not?
