Last Friday, John Cena underwent successful surgery on his shoulder to repair a torn rotator cuff. WWE confirmed that his shoulder was in pretty bad shape. The man himself took to Twitter to give an update on his recovery:
Day 6 post operation. Movement is very good but because a giant chunk of cartilage was missing, this one may take a bit. #nevergiveup

Shoulder injuries like his typically require a 6-to-9 month period of recovery. This doesn't necessarily mean he won't hit that window, but it also doesn't give much hope for the possibility that he could come back sooner than expected like he usually does.
Cena's recovery's in the past have been the stuff of legend. But age catches up to us all.
Is this Tweet an indicator that we should be planning for most of 2016 without the Face Who Runs the Place? Or is it simply a set-up for another amazing return?
