WWE knew its flagship program was going to take a hit in the ratings this week, what with Alabama taking on Clemson at the same time in the college football title game. Said game did over 25 million viewers for ESPN, and it was number one for the night.
Monday Night Raw, predictably enough, was down to 3.32 million viewers (2.36 rating) for all three hours. Last week's show drew 3.57 million viewers.
It's not all bad, though, as the hourly breakdown shows a slight increase in viewers from hour two to three:
Hour one: 3.53 million
Hour two: 3.20 million
Hour three: 3.22 million
That indicates interest in the Roman Reigns vs. everyone match WWE booked at the top of the show with a tease that Brock Lesnar would also make his presence felt, which he did. The good news is WWE is now free and clear of all football competition until the fall.
Next week's numbers will be most interesting.
