The next pay-per-view (PPV) on the WWE schedule is the Royal Rumble event set to take place on Sun., Jan. 24, 2016, at the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida, the company's annual beginning of the year showcase featuring its most popular gimmick match. It will crown the next number one contender to the WWE world heavyweight championship.
We're just two weeks away from the gates opening in the Sunshine State and there was a big shake up this past week.
- Royal Rumble
For just the second time ever, the WWE world heavyweight championship will be on the line. It's the first time it will be defended, however, as Roman Reigns is champion going in and he'll have to win to leave with the same title. So far, 10 wrestlers have been announced for the match, including Reigns. They are:
- Roman Reigns
- Big Show
- Chris Jericho
- Bray Wyatt
- Braun Strowman
- Erick Rowan
- Luke Harper
- Ryback
- Dolph Ziggler
- Curtis Axel
No other matches have been announced for the show at this time, they Dean Ambrose vs. Kevin Owens and Charlotte vs. Becky Lynch are the two big programs outside of the main event level.
