WWE RAW RESULTS AND LIVE BLOG FOR SEPT. 7

BaconStrips here. Let's do this...

WWE Signature and Raw intro

Seth Rollins comes out to start the show.

He gives Baltimore a reality check: He is "once in a lifetime" special.

He starts talking about how he is the only man who has cashed in his Money in the Bank at WrestleMania. After cashing in on the seemingly-invincible Brock Lesnar, Rollins knocked John Cena off of his pedestal to become both the WWE World Heavyweight Champion AND United States Champion at the same time.

Rollins then focuses his attention on Sting and his jealousy toward Rollins. After he takes a moment to cool himself, he acknowledges the "we want Sting" chants, saying that he wants Sting because Sting stole his oh-so beloved statue. Oh, and Sting also put his dirty hands on his WWE WHC.

Rollins tells Sting that he has the opportunity of a lifetime to validate his legacy at Night of Champions, and Rollins plans to crush Sting's legacy on that same night.

He starts going on again, and the crowd answers by chanting "boring" at him, causing him to say that he can go on all night long. After a few more chants, Rollins starts talking about his other match at Night of Champions: Rollins vs John Cena for the US Championship. At first, Rollins was upset about having two matches, but now he has the opportunity to prove himself against two first-ballot Hall of Famers.

Rollins vows not only to cement his legacy, but to get his beloved statue back from the clutches of Sting.

As Rollins babbles on, a crow caws, and Sting appears on the Titantron.

Sting says that Rollins' statue belongs with him. Sting then calls Rollins "a man without a statue" before challenging Rollins to come get it. Sting dusts off the statue's face before the video ends.

As Rollins tries to figure things out, Sheamus comes out.

Sheamus says that Rollins looks agitated as the usual "you look stupid" chants start. Sheamus says that Rollins looks a bit worried about his predicament at Night of Champions. Rollins replies by saying that he is only worried about his little statue. Sheamus calls this stupid, and Rollins says that Sheamus looks stupid, likening him to Ronald McDonald.

Sheamus is offended by this barb against his family before reminding Rollins about the Money in the Bank briefcase, saying that he may just have a third match at Night of Champions.

Backstage, Stephanie McMahon is fiddling with her phone when a frantic Seth Rollins confronts her about the Sting situation. Steph says that she has a plan, but Rollins is frantically looking for Triple H, who is just chilling behind him. He asks if Rollins is doubting Steph, and Rollins blows the question off. Trips and Steph remind Rollins that he's the man, and Rollins gets a boost of confidence, and even more so when Trips announces a match: Randy Orton vs Sheamus 33 3/4.

Trips then announces that Rollins has TWO matches tonight: Seth Rollins vs Ryback AND Rollins and New Day vs The Primetime Players and John Cena. This is a way to have Rollins prove his manhood. He quotes Anthrax to end the segment.

Paige vs Sasha Banks

This was actually a pretty good match that got a pretty good deal of time. Both women got some good moves in and made some good homages to one Shinsuke Nakamura in the process. The end came when Paige got distracted by Naomi and Tamina as she was locking in a scorpion crosslock. This allowed Sasha to roll Paige up for a win.

Hey, there was a "this is awesome" chant, so it's progress I guess.

Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns vs The Ascension

This was a fairly average match with nothing to mention minus a Doomsday Device and a spear to end The Ascension.

The Wyatt Family appears on the Titantron following the match. Braun Strowman says that it's ok to be afraid. Bray Wyatt says that the apocalypse is coming at Night of Champions. Luke Harper tells us to run.

Renee Young interviews Ryback about his upcoming match with Seth Rollins. Ryback puts over the Intercontinental Championship as being defended by fighting champions before calling Rollins a weasel. After this quip, Ryback puts Rollins over a bit before saying that Rollins has a Meat Hook and Shellshock in his future.

As Ryback goes on, Kevin Owens shows up eating an apple. Ryback asks what he wants, and Owens just wishes Ryback luck. Ryback questions his intentions, and Owens tells Ryback to not bite off more than he can chew.

A recap of the unfortunate Rusev/Ziggler/Summer/Lana mess is aired Hollywood tabloid style.

Ryback vs Seth Rollins

This was a long and slow match that eventually ended via a roll-up from Ryback when Sting appeared on the Titantron to bug Rollins some more.

After the match, Sting reappears on the Titantron and channels his inner Oompa-Loompa (sans singing) before putting a Sting mask on the statue.

Backstage, Rollins is screaming for Sting when he encounters The New Day (including trombone). The New Day do their schtick hilariously, causing Rollins to rage until Xavier Woods directs Rollins' attention behind them, where Edge and Christian are casually standing. Edge confronts Rollins about the last time they were together before Rollins stomps off like a child.

Ahh, but we're not done. Woods plays a little tune on his trombone. Christian responds by playing the "New Day Sucks" chant on a kazoo, causing Big E to insert said kazoo into his mouth and spit it out. A physical throwdown is teased until The Dudley Boyz appear (again, what year is this?).

Bubba Ray tells New Day that they have a Tag Title match against the Primetime Players on the next Raw. The winners get to take on The Dudleys at Night of Champions. Before New Day is dismissed, Bubba Ray and D-Von put their spin on the "New Day Sucks" chant by chanting "Get the Table." New Day leaves as Edge and Christian really get into the chant.

So much amazingness here.

Summer Rae comes out to the ring.

After the tabloid recap, Summer calls the past week horrific before calling Rusev the true victim of this love mess. Summer calls Rusev to the ring to apologize, and Rusev obliges.

After hyping her Iron Man Magazine shoot, Summer starts talking about her "encounter" with Dolph Ziggler in more great detail, before eventually dropping the ball that Summer kissed Ziggler. She becomes hysterical as the crowd reacts with "boring" chants and boos.

Rusev takes the mic and says that Summer betrayed him, but he does accept the apology to the crowd's dismay. He calls this whole situation Ziggler's fault, and saying that Summer is the victim. He also calls Lana the victim, saying that she's really missing the show because of a broken heart, not a broken wrist.

As this goes on, Ziggler comes out with a mic. After making a hint that he had a good night with Lana, Ziggler says that Rusev and Summer's lies are only making him and Lana stronger. As for Rusev, he has a message from Lana: a superkick. Rusev and Summer are sent scurrying away.

Randy Orton vs Sheamus

You've seen this one before. After a very long and slow match, Orton hits the RKO to win.

The Wyatt Family attacks after the match. Guess we know who our third man is for Night of Champions...

The Dudley Boyz vs Los Matadores

Very quick match that ends with a 3D after there is a miscommunication between Los Matadores. El Torito gets slaped as well.

After the match, El Torito is Sparta Kicked out of the ring. The Dudleys do not like this, so they take care of the problem. The Matador is powerbombed through the table.

Rusev vs Dolph Ziggler is announced for Night of Champions

Cesaro vs The Miz

This match was fairly fun, but ended when Big Show came to the ring and chased Miz around the ring, eventually leading to a double count-out.

Miz escapes through the crowd, and an annoyed Show knocked Cesaro out on his way to the back.

Team Bella comes out to the ring.

Alicia Fox introduces Nikki Bella in a Paul Heyman-esque style, and boos rain down.

Nikki starts talking about how she's getting ever-so closer to beating AJ Lee's record as longest reigning Divas Champion. Nikki then presents the Curtis Axel-endorsed Bellatron before inviting everyone to a "Bellabration" for when Nikki breaks AJ's record.

As Nikki goes on and on, Team PCB comes out.

Charlotte says that she love a party, but she wasn't invited. However, Charlotte got clever and petitioned for a Divas Title match. The match is granted, so we're gonna have Charlotte vs Nikki on next week's Raw.

A brawl ensues with PCB getting the upper hand.

John Cena and The Primetime Players vs Seth Rollins and The New Day

Before the match, some dude jumps the barricade and  tries to be Seth Rollins' partner...it doesn't go well. On another note, Xavier Woods is the best.

This was a pretty fun match that was aided by Xavier Woods being amazing outside the ring - the dude is an American treasure. Cena and the PTP get the win following an AA on Kofi Kingston.

John Cena and The Primetime Players def Seth Rollins and The New Day

After the match, Cena dances with the PTP before leaving. Rollins enters the ring and complains before Sting appears on the Titantron again. He taunts Rollins some more before having the lights brought up to reveal that he's in the loading area with the statue and a conveniently placed garbage truck. Sting pushes the statue into the truck, and the statue is obliterated to Sting's delight and Rollins' dismay.

Sting rides away triumphantly on the garbage truck as Rollins rages to end the show.
