When we first started to hear rumors about the match card for WWE Network's October 3, 2015 live special from New York City's famed Madison Square Garden - the successor to July's Beast in the East event - it was unclear who headliner Brock Lesnar would be facing.
According to the venue's website, that decision has now been made. And while it's not an opponent who poses much of a kayfabe threat to The Beast Incarnate, it is someone who will allow Lesnar to do impressive looking things in the course of defeating him. And a wrestler with whom Brock has a lot of history...
In addition to Brock, who - unlike in Japan, will be accompanied by his Advocate, Paul Heyman - vs. the World's Largest Athlete, there's been a change to one match and a clarification on the stipulation of another since the initial reports last week.
Here's the updated card as currently advertised:
- Brock Lesnar vs. Big Show
- John Cena vs. Seth Rollins for the United States Championship
- Randy Orton vs. Sheamus
- Dolph Ziggler vs. Rusev
- Kevin Owens vs. Chris Jericho (replacing Cesaro from first report)
- Dudley Boyz, The New Day, Mark Henry, Stardust, Team Bella and more also appearing
The obligatory "card subject to change" applies, but how does this look to you? Will you be punching up WWE Network on your device of choice the first Saturday night in October?
