Roddy Piper died from cardiac arrest in his sleep last Thursday night at the age of 61. And while WWE had posted various videos and articles in remembrance of the man, tonight's episode of Monday Night Raw at the SAP Center in San Jose, California was the first major show the company has held since his passing.
In keeping with what has become tradition for stars of his stature, the entire roster started the show on stage to pay tribute with a silent 10-bell salute followed by the video you see above. It feels like we've done this far too often recently but if that highlight makes you emotional, it's because we had so many great times with Piper while he was still here with us.
And that's a good thing after all.
Rest in peace.
