Ric Flair would be 'thrilled' if John Cena broke his record for most world title reigns

John Cena will challenge Seth Rollins for the WWE world heavyweight championship on Sun., Aug. 23, 2015, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. If he wins, he will tie Ric Flair's record for most world title reigns in a career at 16. Obviously, he would need to lose it and regain it just one more time to break it.

As "The Nature Boy" said on a recent episode of his podcast, he would be "thrilled" if that happens:

"I'd be thrilled if John Cena tied my record and surpassed it. I think the world of John and he has been the flagship for the company for a long time and if John were to catch that title again and then he can surpass the record, I would be very proud of him."

It's hard to pinpoint exactly how many world title reigns Flair has actually had throughout his career -- he's always said 21, and that may very well be the case -- but WWE recognizes 16 as the magic number and Cena is dangerously close to surpassing it.

Anyone think it will happen someday?
