Even in tribute to Roddy Piper, Rusev keeps kayfabe

Over the past day, we've been busy passing along various thoughtsreactionstributes, and thank yous to pro wrestling legend Roddy Piper, who died of cardiac arrest in his sleep at his home at the age of 61 on Thursday night. They're all worth highlighting in some way or another and there will be many more to come, but this one from Rusev stood out to me:

Even while paying tribute to a beloved man who had died just the day before, Rusev kept kayfabe by calling his on-screen former flame and off-screen significant other a "cold fish," a reflection of the storyline they're currently running on WWE television.

Rusev is really something. If Piper were to see it, I'm sure he would appreciate it.
