After finally getting to work something close to a proper program with his brother, Stardust, even if it didn't result in a match at WrestleMania, Goldust seemingly disappeared from WWE television. It turns out it's not just because creative has nothing for him, but because he's out with a shoulder injury.
In an update posted today, he informed Twitter he'll need surgery:
Update. Will have shoulder surgery. I am not done with the @WWEUniverse yet. See ya in 2-4 months. Remember, i will #Persevere. Thank you!!!

Goldust turned 46 just last month and while he's still in fantastic shape and his ring work is right up there with anyone else on the roster, it's fair to wonder if we'll ever see him working as a regular on-screen talent again.
If not, it's been a hell of a ride, huh?
