Sami Zayn debuts on Raw to answer John Cena's US title open challenge

OLE! OLE OLE OLE!

When John Cena made his way out to the ring at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada during Monday Night Raw earlier this evening, he was drown out by chants of "OLE" and "Sami Zayn". The fans were making clear they wanted the former NXT heavyweight champion to answer the US title open challenge in his hometown.

And then he did.

And then they tore the house down with an incredible match that featured Zayn hitting all his trademark spots while being allowed to break Cena's submission and kick out of his finish. He did injure his shoulder early on, so when Cena ultimately used the Springboard Stunner and AA to finish him off clean in the middle of the ring, JBL was sure to point out on commentary that Zayn went toe-to-toe with one of WWE's best while hurt and still almost emerged victorious.

He couldn't have been booked better.

After, Cena shook his hand, raised his arm, gave him the endorsement, and bailed out so Zayn could bask in the adulation of his people in Montreal.

This was AMAZING.
