Look what we have here.
During tonight's episode of Monday Night Raw in Montreal, Kane booked Seth Rollins for a match with Dean Ambrose. When the WWE world heavyweight champion complained that there was no reason for it, Kane agreed and set the stipulation that if Ambrose won, he would be added to the main event of Payback on May 17 in Baltimore to make it a Fatal 4-Way along with Roman Reigns and Randy Orton.
It seemed like a great way to get heat on Rollins and give Ambrose a reason to have a good match and get some sympathy for coming up short.
But he didn't come up short. He fought off a J&J Security run in and rolled Rollins up to score a three count to a thunderous ovation from fans in the Bell Centre. This may have been the best Raw match in a number of years.
Now, talk turns to whether or not Ambrose is simply there as a job guy who will take the pinfall so Reigns and Orton don't have to. But that's to worry about another time.
Thoughts?
Here's the updated Payback match card:
- Seth Rollins vs. Roman Reigns vs. Dean Ambrose vs. Randy Orton
- John Cena vs. Rusev
