UPDATE: WWE has made a decision on Rusev. Read it here.
As of this writing, we're just a couple hours away from tonight's Elimination Chamber event at the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, Texas on the WWE Network and we're no closer to knowing the status of the recently injured Rusev.
The Bulgarian Brute suffered a lower leg injury of some sort during a match with Ryback at the SmackDown taping this past Tuesday night, one WWE reported on at its website. It was noted we should stay tuned for future updates.
We have, and there haven't been any.
Outside reports have indicated it's likely he'll miss tonight's event, where he was scheduled to work the Intercontinental title Elimination Chamber match. Kevin Owens has replaced Rusev on the WWE schedule all the way through the end of July, seemingly supporting those reports.
PW Insider is now reporting that Rusev is expected at tonight's show even if he doesn't wrestle, which would explain why WWE is comfortable continuing to advertise him while failing to provide any meaningful update on his injury.
Make sure to follow along with the show tonight right here.
