When WWE announced the return of the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view (PPV) as a live Network special on Sun., May 31, 2015, in Corpus Christi, Texas, it was revealed that both the Intercontinental and tag team championship titles would be defended in Elimination Chamber matches.
If you're wondering how a tag team Elimination Chamber match would actually work, you're not the only one. It seems WWE doesn't yet have all the details on that sorted but the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscription required but strongly recommended) has the inside track on what we might see in a couple weeks time:
The details haven't been fully worked out, but the idea we were told is that both wrestlers on each team would be put in the pod together and released at the same time, and it would be fought tornado style, in the sense everyone would be in the ring at the same time. We were also told that while traditionally there are six competitors in a Chamber match, they are debating whether to go with six teams, or a number less than six.
For all those hoping for something close to War Games, sorry!
As for who will be involved, all the usual suspects are on the table, with The New Day, Brass Ring Club, Los Matadores, Lucha Dragons, Prime Time Players, and Luke Harper & Erick Rowan all possible for the match.
Sound good to you?
