The last we heard about Alex Riley, Triple H was telling reporters during an NXT conference call that he would be getting some "cool, new opportunities" outside of his previous role as an analyst and commentator. The natural assumption was that would mean a return to the ring and active wrestling.
That hasn't happened ... yet.
For his part, Riley has been on Twitter repeatedly posting tweets that are either intended to be inspirational or his way of dealing with the fact that he's not being used right now. Within the past couple days, he's started campaigning for a spot in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal scheduled for WrestleMania 31 on Sun., Mar. 29, 2015, at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California:
Did somebody say there are 30 spots that need to be filled at #Wrestlemania ? @wwe
