Sami Zayn's first match back will be against Finn Bálor on Thursday

The first bit of big news to come out of NXT's tour of the United Kingdom is that former champion Sami Zayn will be making his much-anticipated in-ring return. Early advertisements had his first match back happening on Saturday, but Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer is now reporting that Zayn will actually be back in action on Thursday night in Newcastle, England.

Zayn will be back in the NXT Championship scene right away, as his return match will be against current champion Finn Bálor for the title in Newcastle. This will be the main event of the first show on the week-long UK tour, which culminates in the live WWE Network special NXT TakeOver: London next Wednesday.

Zayn is still scheduled to face Bálor and Baron Corbin in a triple threat match as the main event of Saturday's live event in Sheffield. At the moment, he is scheduled to appear at TakeOver, but is not currently booked in a match at that event.

Zayn has been out of action with a shoulder injury since May 20.
