WWE TLC 2015 results: The New Day retain tag team titles in wild ladder match

Sunday's WWE pay-per-view kicked off with a huge triple threat ladder match for the tag team titles.

Following the Kickoff Show that featured a strong match from Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch, WWE's TLC pay-per-view proper kicked off with the WWE Tag Team Championship Triple Threat Ladder Match, pitting champions The New Day against the Lucha Dragons and the Usos.

After a show-opening promo from The New Day where they ran down their "unworthy" opponents, Xavier Woods joined the announce team, adding to the already-high watchability factor of the match, which featured wild spots galore.

Ladders and wrestlers flew all over the place and even Sin Cara got in a couple cool (botch-free) spots, including splashing Big E with a ladder and following it up with a swanton tope con hilo onto ladder-covered opponents on the floor.

The Lucha Dragons actually got a real showcase here, as Kalisto's unique offense is more well-suited to a multi-team ladder match than, say, an Elimination Chamber match. The climax of the match involved Kalisto hitting a Salida Del Sol from the top of a ladder through another ladder on Jey Uso, which Sin Cara followed with another swanton onto Jey on the broken ladder.

When it looked like Kalisto had the victory in reach, Woods reminded the announce team that this is a no-DQ match and winged his trombone at Kalisto, allowing Kofi Kingston to climb the ladder uncontested and claim the titles to retain.
