As you undoubtedly know by now, Seth Rollins tore up a bunch of ligaments in his knee and, because he'll need surgery and will be out from anywhere between 6-to-9 months, was forced to vacate the WWE world heavyweight championship. Immediately, a tournament was announced for Survivor Series on Sun., Nov. 22, 2015, at the Philips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, with the winner taking the title for himself.
No participants have been announced just yet -- and there are already rumors that plans could change -- but either way Vince McMahon has a decision to make: Who should win the championship now?
There are a few options.
Roman Reigns had earned a shot at Rollins and was to challenge for the belt at the show before the injury. Brock Lesnar was champion until his WrestleMania 31 match with Reigns where Rollins cashed in Money in the Bank to steal the strap. Kevin Owens is Intercontinental champion and seemingly on the rise. John Cena is, well, John Cena, and while he's out for "personal reasons" right now, he is still, as noted, John Cena.
So who should it be, Cagesiders? I'll leave it to you.
