Just yesterday at a house show in Dublin, Ireland, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins appeared to injure his knee on a sunset flip powerbomb during a match with Kane. Now, Jonathan Coachman at ESPN has confirmed the injury is bad:
BREAKING: Last night in Dublin, IRL, @WWE Champion @WWERollins suffered right ACL/MCL/medial meniscus tears; out 6-9 months.

Rollins will vacate the title and a tournament will be held to crown a new champion at Survivor Series later this month (full details on that here). WWE has yet to provide any details on said tournament but there are a couple weeks of television remaining before the pay-per-view (PPV) in Atlanta, and this provides easy material to write said shows.
The timing of the injury couldn't be worse, with Randy Orton out 4-to-6 months with his own shoulder issues, John Cena taking time off, and Brock Lesnar having just left for more time off.
