WWE spent very little time attempting to get fans excited for a rematch between Kevin Owens, the titleholder, and Ryback, the challenger, for the Intercontinental championship at tonight's Hell in a Cell pay-per-view (PPV) at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.
That's probably why they gave them the so called "death slot," just after the WWE world title match and just before the night's main event.
It made no sense to do a title change here, for a number of reasons, and sure enough they booked Owens to retain the strap. THE BIG GUY had his moments but it was clear they never had any intention of actually putting the belt back on him. Instead, they had Owens use another eye poke -- or at least Ryback sold like that was the case, though it could have been a kick -- to set up the Popup Powerbomb for the three count.
