Daniel Bryan is hoping to face Brock Lesnar for the WWE title at WrestleMania 31

WWE.com

It's entirely possible that by the end of Sunday night in Philadelphia, Brock Lesnar will have successfully defeated John Cena and Seth Rollins to retain the WWE world heavyweight championship while Daniel Bryan will have won the Royal Rumble match for the right to challenge the WWE world heavyweight champion in the main event of WrestleMania 31.

In an interview with The Sun, Bryan makes clear he's hoping that's exactly what happens:

"Literally, my ideal scenario for Sunday would be I win the Royal Rumble, Brock Lesnar wins his WWE World Heavyweight championship match and then we wrestle in the main event of WrestleMania. That's what I hope happens. It'll be interesting to see what actually does happen."

A Bryan vs. Lesnar match would be unlike anything we've seen in WWE for a long time, but there are a few obstacles. For starters, WWE may not be comfortable with Brock holding the title going into WrestleMania if he plans on going back to the UFC when his contract comes up in April. That could lead to Lesnar losing the title to Cena or Rollins at the Royal Rumble and Bryan moving on to face either of them.

And none of that takes into account the next face they hope will run the place, Roman Reigns.

All we can do now is wait and see.

Would you prefer Bryan gets his way? Or do you have a better idea for the Rumble and the WrestleMania main event?
