Vince Russo's sinister theory on Hulk Hogan inducting Macho Man Randy Savage into the WWE Hall of Fame

It was announced just this past week that the legendary Macho Man Randy Savage will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame the night before WrestleMania 31 in Santa Clara, California. He'll headline the 2015 class of inductees, and Hulk Hogan was chosen as the guy to induct him.

Yes, Savage's longtime professional rival and personal nemesis, depending on who you're speaking with, will do the honors.

It's a curious choice, considering the history, and while Lanny Poffo, Savage's brother, has already come out in support of The Hulkster, Vince Russo has a sinister theory on why the decision was made:

"Now the fact that Hulk is introducing Randy in the Hall of Fame... I'm sorry, I have to ask myself: Is it a case of 'we've got to put Randy in because of the backlash of the fans?' And you can't not put Randy Savage in the Hall of Fame unless you have an ulterior motive. So 'I'm tired of hearing the fans, we've gotta put Randy in but, being Vince McMahon, I'm going to get the last laugh by letting Hulk Hogan (induct him).' I mean, come on. If you know the situation and you know the players, that's a very, very possible scenario. I don't know for a fact if that's the truth but like I said, the guy made it clear to me that he didn't like Hogan. Even if they patched up their relationship, I'm sure they weren't the best of friends. Wresting is all about playing ribs. Is the rib on Randy? I don't know. ... Me, personally, would not doubt for a second (that Hogan inducting Savage is so Vince can get the last laugh)."

Vince McMahon has shown time and again throughout his life that he is a petty man who can hold one hell of a grudge but would he actually go this far?
