Seven week ago, we reported that an arrest warrant had been issued for WWE's Heath Slater over a three year old assault charge made by female security guard Corrine Oliver, who was working at a post-WrestleMania 27 party in Atlanta, GA, for her employer Allied Security. Slater immediately denied any wrongdoing, while WWE stated that they would withhold any judgement until the process was farther along and take action later if necessary.
Although they didn't publicly suspend him like they did with Kevin Nash, WWE immediately took Heath Slater off television and all live events, ostensibly to give him time off to deal with the issue, but probably also for PR reasons too.
Late yesterday night, MyFOXAtlanta.com reported that all charges against Slater have been dropped The simple assault charges against WWE star Heath Slater, accused of attacking a female security guard over the weekend of WrestleMania 27 almost four years ago, has been dropped due to the statute of limitations expiring.:
"The Fulton County Solicitor's Office confirms that simple assault charges against professional wrestling star Heath Slater have been dropped.
A security guard, Corrine Oliver had claimed she was assaulted after a 2011 wrestling match.
The court says the charges were dropped because the statute of limitation had expired."
This should enable Heath Slater to return to WWE action shortly. Maybe he will be a surprise entrant into the 2015 Royal Rumble match?
