WWE SummerSlam 2015 location likely to be moved thanks to expected IZOD Center closing

According to a report from NorthJersey.com, the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey will likely be closed by the end of the month due to other facilities like the Prudential Center and the Barclay's Arena opening up and stealing business away.

How does that affect WWE?

For the first time in six years, the company had planned to move its annual summertime event, SummerSlam, from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California to the east coast. The IZOD Center is where they settled on holding the show.

Obviously that won't be happening if the building shuts down.

In anticipation of as much, WWE released the following statement:

"WWE is currently looking at alternatives and we're confident we will come up with an equivalent to or better option."

This isn't exactly the smoothest transition from one side of the country to the other but at least the company has ample time to come up with a solution to a problem it wasn't expecting.
