Report: Batista WWE return unlikely until 2015 after major success of Guardians of the Galaxy

According to a recent report from PW Insider, it's looking more and more like Batista won't be making his return to WWE until "at least" 2015. At first, it was expected that he would leave around June to do promotional duties for the release of Guardians of the Galaxy in August, then he would return shortly thereafter.

Obviously, that's not what has happened.

Instead, Batista left, Guardians of the Galaxy turned out to be a smash hit, and he's openly spoke of how upset he was at how he was used creatively throughout his run. It started with returning as a babyface, something he claimed he knew the fans wouldn't accept, and on through various other issues like WWE asking Daniel Bryan not to sell injury following WrestleMania 30, where Batista put Bryan over clean to win the WWE world heavyweight championship.

He's also spoke of wanting a retirement match at WrestleMania with Triple H, and it's looking possible that's what he'll angle for next year. He's got all the leverage now, considering it's also being reported that he's getting a re-worked deal with Marvel to feature him more prominently in upcoming plans for both the Guardians sequel and Avengers 3.

One thing that looks certain is that Batista will be back eventually. Now, it seems, he'll just be coming back for a short run to say goodbye.
