John Cena's Greatest Rivalries DVD the latest example of CM Punk being scrubbed from WWE history

WWE.com

WrestlingDVDNews.com has released the content listing for John Cena: Greatest Rivalries, a DVD set due from WWE on October 20th.

It looks like a good sampling of the champ's feuds over the last decade plus of his reign atop pro wrestling's most prominent cards, and should provide nice bang for your buck if you're a fan - or at least a connoisseur of "big game Jern", where he busts his ass to work great matches against big name opponents under the brighest spotlights, like myself.

There were three names I immediately thought of when I clicked on WrestlingDVDNews' link for the list.  While I was pleasantly surprised to be reminded of his early program with Eddie Guerrero, his work with Batista at the end of The Animal's initial run with the company and his phenomenal series of matches with Shawn Michaels, it was still a shock to see only two of the three names I expected to see on the initial list.  Edge and Randy Orton are there, but you have to scroll down to the Blu-Ray exclusive extras to see CM Punk's name.

And it's not just that the Best in the World is relegated to the bonus features.  We don't know what's discussed on the interview segments, but based on the matches picked, it's probably not the Summer of 2011 where Punk's challenge of Cena brought a ton of new and lapsed fans to the product and kicked off the so-called Reality Era.

Their Raw match from February of 2013 was a classic, but to include a random free television bout from 2009 where the then-Straight Edge Society leader was basically enhancement talent for the Cenation head instead of their five-star match at Money in the Bank?

Maybe I'm making a mountain out of a mole hill here, but it seems to me that not including what many of us thought was, or at least should have been, the defining feud of a generation is more evidence of there not being a peaceful settlement to the Punk/WWE divorce anywhere on the horizon.
