The last we checked in on the story of Alberto Del Rio getting fired by WWE for slapping a Social Media Manager over alleged racial insults before showing up in AAA and painting his former employers as racist heels, reports stated WWE wasn't taking any action against either Del Rio or AAA.
The reasons for this are unclear but it's a unique situation in that WWE hasn't denied one of its employees made racially insensitive remarks that led to his getting slapped. That doesn't justify Del Rio's actions, obviously, and his firing was just but attempting to prevent him from working elsewhere would only give AAA more ammunition in its assault on the company, even in kayfabe.
For his part, Del Rio returned to Twitter today saying he's flying to Mexico to close a deal with AAA:
I'm back, and I want to thank u all for your support. Nothing can stop me, god and my fam. Keep me going. #WrestlingLife #freealberto

In the plane right now on my way to my #mexico to close the deal with my new #casa @luchalibreaaa

The assumption is whatever legal issues there may have been before are no longer and Del Rio, who now works under the name Alberto El Patron, has his new home.
Stay tuned.
