Bray Wyatt has spent just over one year on the main roster in WWE and during that time, he's made his mark as a wordsmith who wows with his gift of gab. His promos have both confused and inspired. With that in mind, I embarked on a project: transcribing every single Wyatt promo since his debut on Raw. This does not include anything from NXT other than his goodbye promo nor does it cover the vignettes that aired leading into his debut.
Check out part one here. Now, here's part two and remember to look for part three tomorrow:
"Have you heard the good news? The Earth is rotting beneath your feet. The human race is a bacteria that infects and destroys. He needed me. He needed me. Fate works in strange ways. He was lost. She dances and sings in the light. She lurks in the shadows, and she always gets her way. Now he has a home. Your words mean nothing to him now. He only hears my truth. Now he has a home. He has a home."
- Friday Night SmackDown, January 3, 2014
"Fate. She is a strange beast. She warms your heart with her eyes right before she tears you apart with her teeth. Ask me now: Are her virtues worth this gamble? Usos, if I was to break one of your bones, would the other one feel it? If I cut one of you, would the other one bleed? Aren't you tire of playing hero? Don't you realize that you're living this giant lie? ... Run."
- Friday Night SmackDown, January 10, 2014
"As a child, I wanted nothing more in life than to be powerful like my father. I did my best to appease him. I tried to be just like him but it was never good enough. He was never there for me. He was never there for me. Listen to these sheeple. My father, instead of entrusting me with his kingdom, he betrayed me. He deceived me. He cast me out to walk amongst the sheep as one of them, as one of you. But I always knew that I was destined for greater things. So as I lay there deep down in that black hole gasping for air, calling for help, she saved me. Abigail saved me. She gave me hope and she sang to me the sweetest songs that I had ever heard. I became enthralled with her beauty and obsessed with her power. She told me that on my path to righteousness, that on my path to purity, I would be deceived again. So as I lay down there Monday a beaten, battered mess, I looked into his eyes and I saw it. I felt it. I knew that this was my moment, that this was what she was talking about, and I had to sacrifice myself so that I may be resurrected into the creature I was born to be. Did you really think that you could hurt me? I am already dead. I'm already dead. You're foolish attempt to stab me in the back... how could you be so simple? I do not bleed like one of you. Daniel Bryan was given every chance to walk with the reapers. Now, he will burn with the saints."
- Friday Night SmackDown, January 17, 2014
"A man who is not willing to die for something is not fit to live. Where I come from, being a traitor is a sin of the highest order, man. You did not expose me like you think, Bryan; you only exposed yourself. For only a coward would use his free wings to fly right back into the cage where he came from. These people, these animals, oh how they rewarded you. They cheered for you, Bryan, as you stamped me out, as you battered me, Bryan. Traitor. They're sheep. They only look up to you Bryan because they chose to kneel, traitor. What I want you to do now is I want you to go home and I want you to hug your mother. I want you to tell her you love her. I want you to tell her you're sorry. Because everything that happens to you from now on is your fault."
- Monday Night Raw, January 20, 2014
"At the Royal Rumble, I'm not just going to defeat Daniel Bryan, I'm going to hurt him. Then, I'm going to change the world. They won't be able to comprehend my actions, not at first. But I guarantee you this, they will be able to deny me no more. Follow the buzzards."
- Friday Night SmackDown, January 24, 2014
"I admire your courage. Surely normal men lose sleep at just the mere thought of dancing with reapers. But war, justice... that's y'all's game, man. I dig it. I like games too. War, oooh, that's my favorite. My soul smiles at just the thought of your quivering hands waving those white flags, yeah. I would advise y'all to be careful inviting the devil in your backyard ... because he may just like it and decide to stay."
- Friday Night SmackDown, January 31, 2014
"Shield ... come out, come out, wherever you are. I understand you, more than you can possibly comprehend. I got your blueprint stamped in my brain, and I know what you are: pawns. You move forward, never backwards. You spend all of your useless days clawing with your aching hands forward just to that beautiful moment, the moment where you sacrifice yourself in the name of your king. Here's a little tidbit I know that you don't: your moment is closer than you think. I will build my empire next to the sea and I will smile from my throne while I watch my enemies drown."
- Monday Night Raw, February 3, 2014
"Many have tried to play this game with me before, Shield, and they have all failed. You will be no different. You are but tiny little toy soldiers trying to play your part in a war that is not meant for you. You will fall right in time for my next game to begin. Follow the buzzards."
- Monday Night Raw, February 10, 2014
"I got the joy, joy, joy, joy down in my heart, down in my heart, down in my heart. I got the joy, joy, joy, joy, down in my heart, down in my heart, to stay. You know, as our day of reckoning inches closer, I can't help but feel this child-like excitement building up in me. The clock is ticking. Your defeat will not come in vain. Your shattered bones will pave the streets of my kingdom and from my throne, I'm going to turn them all. I can't help but wonder, Shield, I must ask you: In the end, was all of this worth it? Only because if you're not (willing to die for this), you've already lost."
- Monday Night Raw, February 17, 2014
"There really ain't much left to say now, is there? The Shield, they are just three dominos set up in a line and when they fall, the next will follow. They ask, and they beg, and they plead for people to believe in them. Well I say, how will anyone be able to believe in The Shield when they are crawling on their hands and knees looking up to the Eater of Worlds? Follow the buzzards."
- Friday Night SmackDown, February 21, 2014
"This world has an infection and the virus is the human race. Through all these troubling times, John, it makes all the sense in the world that you would place yourself right in the middle. After all, what would the world be without its hero? What would the world be without its knight in shining armor here to save the day? People like you, John? They're hollow. You're full of empty promises. You promise to save these people, you promise to keep them safe, you tell them that everything will be all right just as long as you're around. Liar. You're a liar. You are a liar, John Cena. This is a terrible world. A cold, cold, dark, and lonely place. You stand for these illusions but I stand for everything that is real. Now you say the future has got to come through you first. I couldn't agree more, John. Please, excuse me. Allow me to properly introduce myself. My name is Bray Wyatt. We are the reapers that bring death to this era of lies."
- Monday Night Raw, February 24, 2014
"Everything you think you know about your own lives, is all based upon lies. Men, you wake up every morning, you go to work, you break your backs just trying to earn a little bit of cash so that you can buy yourself those fancy suits, so that you can buy yourself those sports car and impress the women. And now women, you wake up every morning, you look at yourself in the mirror, and you coat make up all over your beautiful faces because you didn't even realize that you are just wearing the mask that society demands you to wear. It's a bottomless pit of lies. They plaster your hopes and dreams up on a billboard. And who is the man that is on that billboard? Well he's the man that hides behind the plastic smile. He's the man that plays the role of hero better than anyone else. He's the man that tells you everything you think you need to hear and I think to myself, oh, what a wonderful world.
"Yet this is the same society that intends to vilify a man like me. Why? Because I say everything they're afraid to do. Because I do everything that they're afraid to do. And I promise you today, I promise you tomorrow, I promise you up until my final breath that with the sword of my tongue I will slay this mighty dragon. And I will stand over his body and I will whisper into his ear, 'John Cena, it's time to end this lie'. Follow the buzzards."
- Friday Night SmackDown, February 28, 2014
"It's happening. We're not in Wonderland anymore, Alice. John Cena feels the need to fill this void inside of him. The burden of his legacy weighs down heavy on his shoulders. After all, kids, what would John Cena be without his legacy? I have a legacy of my own. My father was the war. My brother was the snail that entrapped me and forced me to watch. My mother was the streets that taught me to survive. The world is my teacher. And I am what you made me. I don't want to save John Cena; there's nothing left for me to fix. I just want to stand back as it all burns down."
- Friday Night SmackDown, March 7, 2014
"I have always been fascinated with pride. It is my favorite sin. It has the power to blind even the strongest men, even those who claim to be immortal. Hey kids, take your vitamins and say your prayers. All praise be to the virtue of hustle, loyalty, and respect, as if they could do you any good. You are both liars, and your foolish pride allows you to pray upon the weak and fill them up with all this hope. But hope is dead. As will be your legacy, John. I can see it in your eyes. You don't get it. How could you possibly get something that you can't comprehend? But I'll lay it out for you, John, right here and right now. If you look up at me, you will see a friend. If you look down at me, you will see an enemy. But if you look at me square in the eye, you will see a god. Just what I thought, John. A little bit more empty promises, a little bit more hope. Well I say it's always fun and games with you, John, until it's you caught in the spiders web."
- Monday Night Raw, March 10, 2014
"I never sleep but I'm always dreaming. Lately, I've been dreaming of you, John. You and I will be sharing this war in New Orleans, but off in the distance there is a woman's voice. It's very faint, I can't make out what it says, but as we fight, and as we come closer to her, I can hear her. She's telling me that she loves me. She's telling me how proud she is of me. Just like that, I wake up, and I still see you, John. But now I see you for what you've become. You're in a chair, sitting there a withered old man, lonely and filled with regrets. We have entered the bowels of Carcosa, friend. But don't you worry about a thing. I'll make it quick. Follow the buzzards."
- Friday Night SmackDown, March 14, 2014
"Children believe in superheros, John. They wear masks and costumes because they want to believe that the world is good. They haven't lived long enough to understand that everything is a lie. My childhood, John, let me fill you in about something about Bray Wyatt. My childhood, it wasn't all rainbows and butterflies. You dare talk about your scars, John. Well I've got a few scars too. The world gave them to me. They gave them to me because it was my birth right to have them. They taught me that fire is hot and that blades are sharp. They taught me that everything that I love in life, sooner or later, is going to wither away and die. Well look at me now. I could be just like you. I could sign autographs and kiss babies and make sure that everyone buys all my merchandise. I could go home to my plastic girlfriend in my castle. I could take everything I fear and hide behind laughter. Tell jokes, make sure I feel better about myself. Yeah, John, that's you. But you were right about one thing. I am different than anyone you will ever face. Because at WrestleMania, I don't care if I never leave. I don't care if I die. As long as the world sees you the way that I do. Follow the buzzards."
- Monday Night Raw, March 17, 2014
"I am everywhere. I am everything. It makes all the sense in the world why you would be afraid of me, John. Fear me, for I was born of this world's hatred and I feed off its sins. I am the color red in a world full of black and white. I am your mother's tears from the love you couldn't repay her. The buzzards are circling overhead. I am the sad truth that waits for you down below. I got your fear, John, right here in the palm of my hand, and your fear is my power, and my power is my control. I will rule your entire world. Run."
- Friday Night SmackDown, March 21, 2014
"He's got the whole world in his hands. You know, people don't usually believe in things that they cannot see, in things they cannot touch. It is human nature, after all. But in the case of John Cena we all see him. I mean, how can you possibly miss this billboard and infomercials being shoved down your throat every day? We see you. But what I was wondering was have you ever taken the time, John, to see me for what I really am. I am the way into the City of Woe. I am the way into eternal pain. I am the way to go among the laws beyond time, I stand. I wanted to ask you, John. What could you possibly do to harm somebody that just can't feel? Run."
- Monday Night Raw, March 24, 2014
"You give a man a mask and he will reveal his true face. Nobody is innocent, John. They're all guilty. They've all worn a mask at some point or another. Whether it was to hide their wrong doings or fit into some social scene, it makes no difference. But there is a problem. The problem is that if you hide behind this mask for too long it becomes you. Then, to remove this mask is to remove your own skin. I have broken you, John. I have broken you. My sword has left a scar on your soul that can never heal. And tonight this sword will slay a giant; a gift for you, John. Can't you hear her calling your name? Can't you hear her sweet song serenading your mind? I'll never forget what she said to me the first time I heard her. 'All secrets will come to light underneath the shade of the cypress tree.' He's got the whole world in his hands, he's got the whole world in his hands."
- Friday Night SmackDown, March 28, 2014
"The world is bleeding from the inside out. It lives and breathes, and just like everything else it craves change. The problem is it becomes far too easy to be enamored with the gardens and to turn a blind eye to the landfills. You can't just whisper in peoples ears anymore and to expect them to understand you, to believe in you. You have to pry their eyes open and force them to watch. Do I have your attention now, kids? She said I was a child born to lead, that I would be the one to teach them the difference between diamonds and dust. That I would be the one to take everything that they love and burn it to the ground, leave nothing but ashes. She said that I would change the world. They're going to cry for you, John. They won't understand, not at first. But in time, they will forget you. And you'll be left with nothing. They'll see you the same way that I do ... as a monster, John."
- Monday Night Raw, March 31, 2014
"Sometimes I wish that I could feel pain. But I am different. And we should all embrace our differences, right kids? For instance, if I lost to you, John, at WrestleMania, then why can't I stop smiling? And why do I feel so good? Because I saw it in your eyes, John. For the first time I realized that you are not hollow in there. It's right here, it's right here, it's inside of you, John. And it's something that I know all too well because when I look inside myself, I see the good, I see the bad, I see everything. I see dreams you haven't dreamed, and worlds you haven't discovered. I see miracles. My mind is endless, and I am free. It must have been so frightening for you, John. Because you were this close, you were right there. All you needed was one last little push. And now I realize that I have to go to new extremes if I want to bring out the monster that I know exists in you. So strap it on, John, because this party is far from over."
- Friday Night SmackDown, April 11, 2014
"Society as a whole has become this vile and putrid thing. You do as your told, so says the man. You see what they want you to see and you feel whatever it is they want you to feel but I am different. Where you see a blank canvas, I see a beautiful painting. And where you hear silence, I hear symphony. I have a thousand faces and a million names. Seducer, accuser, destroyer. And you, you may call me by whatever name you see fit but know this and understand that I have never once lied to you.
"But we all know who has, don't we? Hell, John Cena has made a career out of lying to you all. He earns your trust hidden behind his porcelin smile but don't be fooled, he is no man, he is beast. And don't you worry about a thing, kids. I'm not going to let him do this to you anymore. I've got him right where I want him, up against the ropes, on the edge, and all he needs is that one last little push. Abigail shall be my sword through this crusade but I do not wish to slay this monster, not yet. Right now, I just want it to come out and play. How about it, John? I know you're back there.
"Oh, John, you are hysterical, I can't get enough of it, John. Oh, I love that every time any serious threat gets in your face, all you know how to do is make jokes about it.
"I like that, John, oh I like that. You don't even realize it but me and you, we been playing catch with knives, yeah, and sooner or later one of us is gonna get stuck. It's going to be real bad, John. My question to you: How can you be 100-percent sure that it won't be you? You want to see fun, John? You want me to have a good time? Well I ask you, my brothers and sisters here in my backyard, we will no longer allow this fallacy to command us. This is my world and it belongs to me."
- Monday Night Raw, April 14, 2014
"I remember the first time that I was ever struck with truth. The taste was bitter and it was so intense. But I liked it. It was something real. Free will has become man's biggest illusion. They promise it to you just in time to take it away again. And what have they left us with? What have we become? Just a nation full of mindless sheep, led by wolves and owned by pigs. But I was thinking, tonight, man, tonight would be what a wonderful night for change.
"What a wonderful night for change indeed. I was thinking tonight they have left the power in your hands. Those fools. Tonight, free will does exist. Tonight, you make a choice. And what fate will you choose for your knight in shining armor? Will you choose the path of less pain for your hero? Or will tonight be the night that John Cena finally learns the truth? And the truth is we stand against you. Whether it be this brother or that brother, whether it be in a steel cage or inside your own mind, John, we stand against you.
"At Extreme Rules, inside that steel cage match, two monsters will enter. But on this night, it will not matter which monster has the sharpest teeth or the longest claws because one thing will remain the same: they do not love you anymore, John. Can't you feel it? Brothers, can't you feel it? Do you feel the same that I do? Every time we cross paths, John, I take more of them with you. You, and you, and you, my brother, and you, my sisters, they are all coming with me. Listen, John. Listen as it happens, John. Won't they sing with me? ... Feel; feel with me!"
- Monday Night Raw, April 21, 2014
"Sing. Sing. Love. Love. All power in this world is measured by how much love you have. Whether you love to bring joy or suffering you cannot deny that love is a delectable experience. Yeah, man. It is a ravenous wild fire with beautiful flames. It is a divine wine that brings warmth to those who drink it in. It cannot be defined. You have to live it; you have to feel it. Get them to love you, John. And then they'll do anything for you. But you already know that, don't you? And how does it feel now, John, to know that you have lost their love? To know that they would rather see you suffer than see you smile, and I like your style? This past Monday night on Raw, your people, John, they were given a choice. And you, you could have given John a fair fight. But you didn't. Instead, you threw him to the wolves like a piece of meat. I think we've crossed this bridge. I think we've reached the threshold. John, I think it's high time that you stop underestimating me. Thinking of me as just a man is a mistake; I am not. I am the nagging conscience of a world that has thrown itself away to mortal monsters. I am everywhere, and I am everything. And my words, man, my words are not just words. My words are razor blades that cut deep. And they are working.
"At Extreme Rules, me and you got a date with destiny, John, inside a steel cage. How fitting. We're just like a couple modern day gladiators fighting for the respect of our people. This cage defines your world, John. And everything you stand for, and all the blood, sweat, and tears you have put in fighting for them, it has landed you right here with me. Like a snake trapped with a rat in a box. Just remember, John, it was you who invited me here. And you haven't even removed my venom. Your nightmares have become my dreams come true. And in my dreams I hear them. And in my dreams I feel them. And in my dreams I see them. One by one, they will all follow me.
"Can't you see them now, John? Can't you hear them singing? Can't you hear them singing with me?"
- Friday Night SmackDown, April 25, 2014
Make sure you come back for part three tomorrow.
