Entertainment reported Chris Van Vliet got a lot out of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson during a quick sit down promoting Hercules (which premeires this Friday, July 25th).
The highest grossing box office star in the world continues to leave the door open for a possible return to wrestling and WWE. In the process, he may have given us some information about other big names currently in or rumored to be joining the company.
Rocky alludes to his own planned feud with Brock Lesnar that was aborted after he incurred numerous injuries in his WrestleMania 29 showdown with John Cena. Then he says that he is scheduled to work a program with, "Ba Da Da Da, Da Da Da Da". I can't hear that as anything other than Cena's theme, and that would confirm the worst kept secret in pro wrestling history.
Van Vliet asks him if would work with his cousin, Roman Reigns, in a return match, and Johnson downplays that because "he's not their top heel right now". That wasn't a problem for two matches against Cena, so maybe The Great One is saying something else about Reigns not being "the marquee value player" he would come back to work with?
Finally, when asked about the latest downloadable incentive character in a WWE video game, Johnson responded:
I do [think Sting will "come back"], yeah. And, I know a guy or two, so let's just put it like that. I do think he's gonna come back and I think it's gonna be great. If he does."
There you have it, Cagesiders. Straight from a guy who knows a guy.
IF YOU SMELL...WHAT THE ROCK...IS SPOILING!
