Report: New WWE world heavyweight title belt to debut soon

You may or may not have noticed but WWE is slowly but surely changing over to a new logo, one that debuted with the WWE Network and has made appearances in various other places, including the company airplane. Here's the logo in question:

Sleek.

According to a report from PW Insider, this logo will be implemented across all platforms -- promotional material, merchandise, etc. -- as of the SummerSlam pay-per-view (PPV) on Sun., Aug. 17, 2014. This was expected.

However, it's also being reported that a new WWE world heavyweight championship title belt will be unveiled around the same time. Remember that rumor this past Tuesday that when John Cena handed Ric Flair the Big Gold Belt and told him to "keep it" that it was considered a retirement for that title? Apparently that's exactly what that was and plans for the future include only the new WWE world heavyweight title.

Cena did not appear on SmackDown this week, so we haven't seen him with his title since he passed it off to Flair. That will change at Battleground tonight in Tampa, so we'll see if he's got Big Gold with him or not.

Considering rumors of late, it looks entirely possible Brock Lesnar will become the first wrestler to sport the new WWE championship title belt.

As always, stay tuned.
