UPDATE: Emma has since been reinstated. Read more here.
On the heels of her arrest for shoplifting at a Wal-Mart, WWE has released Emma from its roster.
From WWE.com:
WWE has come to terms on the release of WWE Diva Emma as of today, July 2, 2014. WWE wishes Emma the best in all her future endeavors.
News broke just yesterday that Emma, real name Tenille Dashwood, was arrested on Monday before that night's episode of Raw on a Larceny charge. It was later revealed that the item she was accused of trying to leave the store without purchasing was a "iHome 'Slim Swivel' iPad Mini case".
She appeared in court for the charges on Tuesday, where she was ordered to complete community service, and her lawyer released a statement claiming the entire issue was simply a misunderstanding. He said she was simply going through a self-checkout aisle and forgot to ring up one of the items she had with her.
The Hartford Police Department later released a statement that you can read here.
When WWE first released a statement on the matter, it was just to say that Emma is responsible for her personal actions.
We'll update this story with more as it comes in.
