John Cena not scheduled to appear on several upcoming WWE Raw episodes

With evidence out there to suggest that current WWE World Heavyweight Champion John Cena will be main eventing SummerSlam, and rumors that his presumptive opponent Brock Lesnar will be returning to WWE television this upcoming Monday to kick off their program, you'd think that Cena himself would be in Miami for Raw, right?

Not according to a report from PWInsider.com, that can be verified by checking the "Scheduled to Appear" banner on the event page on WWE.com.

The champ is also not billed to be there for the August 4th show in Austin, Texas, but is scheduled to appear on the July 28th card in Houston and the go home show from Portland, Oregon on August 11th.

We already knew that he was skipping the quick Australian tour during the first week of August, and according to the report, these missed Monday nights are for the same reason - filming for his role in the upcoming Judd Apatow directed, Amy Schumer scripted comedy film Trainwreck.

Would WWE give their champ two of the four live broadcasts off before their big summer showcase?  Or might we be getting a new titleholder at Battleground after all?

Will the SummerSlam build be similar to the WrestleMania 30 program that saw Undertaker and Lesnar alternate weeks in which they appeared?  Or are we not headed toward Lesnar vs. Cena II after all?

Keep it here, Cagesiders, and we'll bring you any news or rumor we can find about WWE's latest part-time champ, John Cena.
