Despite the fact that Undertaker's undefeated streak at WrestleMania was broken by Brock Lesnar this past April in New Orleans, Sting still wants that elusive match with "The Phenom" before he retires. And he would like to do it at WrestleMania 31 in Santa Clara.
As told to The Mirror:
"I've made it clear I'd love to have one last hurrah, one last big match hopefully. And of course I've been outspoken about Undertaker being the opponent. I know what happened at WrestleMania where Brock Lesnar broke his streak. I think, or at least I'm hoping, that Taker's still going to come back and that he's not done. If he's not done, and he would consider doing it, I'd love to work with him one time. I'd love to wrestle him one time before I call it quits."
The last we heard about Undertaker was he was still in really bad shape after suffering multiple injuries in his match with Lesnar, including a severe concussion. It was bad enough that Vince McMahon actually left the arena before the main event of the show to accompany him to the hospital.
He is, however, back in the gym and training again, even if he's reportedly told others a return to the ring is "not looking good" right now.
It was just announced last night that Sting will be the pre-order bonus character in the WWE 2K15 video game. Shortly after, WWE Shop put a new t-shirt up for sale on its website, a clear sign the two sides of a working relationship.
Does that mean he'll work a match at some point?
"All for it, just put it that way," he said.
Stay tuned.
