The Architect of The Shield gave fans and WWE officials a bit of a scare last night with the way he was holding his knee after a spot that took him off the stage of the Raw main event last night. With names like Daniel Bryan and Wade Barrett already on the shelf with injuries, the loss of a heel that fans love to hate and who can have stellar matches with a wide variety of opponents would be devastating to the current WWE product.
Thankfully early word (via Mike Johnson at PWInsider.com) is that Seth Rollins' knee is fine. His sales job was so good that even the officials who responded to the 'X' sign thrown up by the referee were concerned and the production crew shied away from cutting to him as he was checked out.
But much like Dean Ambrose's backstage beatdown from earlier in the show, the point was to leave the ring for the four men who will be battling for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Battleground: champ John Cena, Roman Reigns, Kane and Randy Orton.
More as we have it - especially if WWE says anything (they have no mention of it on their website as of this writing) - but for now, it looks like we can all breathe a sign of relief and look forward to Ambrose vs. Rollins on Sunday.
