WWE is currently on tour and running shows in Saudi Arabia and earlier today there was an accident while setting up the ring. Charles Robinson, a referee who you may know as "Little Naitch", was working on the ring and ended up slicing his thumb.
The result:
6 stitches today after working on the ring. Such a goof I am. pic.twitter.com/R2vHv2ZfIW

This flew under the radar all day until TMZ got a hold of the story and it went from Robinson cutting his thumb to his apparently almost losing it completely.
Robinson says it was so bad he almost lost his thumb ... but WWE doc Chris Amann managed to quickly patch him up with 6 stitches.
The lesson here? Never get careless, folks, and don't fight the ring because the ring fights back.
