Although season two of Total Divas on the E! channel struggled early in the ratings -- the second season premiere garnered just 1.07 million viewers -- the numbers have picked up over the past couple weeks leading to the second highest viewership total in history for last night's (Mar. 30, 2014) edition.
Centered around Summer Rae making enemies with both Brie Bella (although they later worked that out) and Natalya (they didn't), the show drew 1.55 million viewers.
Much of that is almost surely attributed to the heavy promotion leading into it, mostly centering on Summer slapping Natalya after the latter called her a stripper. Well, that's what the commercials showed. The slap actually came after "Nattie" took a shot at Rae for being 30 and still single.
It doesn't really matter. After watching a few episodes you'll come to realize this isn't even reality television. It's more of a work than pro wrestling, the business it's based around.
Still, the numbers are good and, at least for this week, everyone can be happy about it.
The show won't be on this coming Sunday night as the decision was made not to go head-to-head with WrestleMania 30, the biggest WWE show of the year. First run episodes return on April 13.
