UFC star Ronda Rousey open to pro wrestling but doubtful it ever happens

Her plate is already full, but pro wrestling could be a nice side, right?

Jayne Kamin-Oncea-USA TODAY Spor

Remember that video we posted last week featuring current UFC women's Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey working a brief pro wrestling match with one of her training partners, Shayna Baszler. The two are part of a group they call "The Four Horsewomen" and apparently they like to put together little exhibitions like this.

The response to the video, glowing effusive praise, was such that Rousey was asked during a recent media scrum (via MMAFighting.com) if she would be up for doing pro wrestling professionally. Her response:

"It's fun, it's cool. We're all big fans in the house and the 'Rowdy' in my name comes from 'Rowdy' Roddy Piper. I came into the gym and she was just leaving. And I just walked in; I hadn't even warmed up, that was the first thing I did that day, by the way. She kept talking about it, she was like 'oh we should do quick little pro wrestling spots'. Because I like making up little fight scenes and all this stuff all the time. So we just made up that one little clip and we think we're going to just keep elaborating on it as like a Four Horsewomen storyline of how the argument started. That would probably be like I would need to go to the bathroom and she was in there and told me to go screw myself and then I end up jumping her in the gym. It's more like,  It's just for fun for us right now. Professionally, who knows? Me and all the girls are huge fans. If they were all down to do something, I'd probably be happy to jump in with them. But I have the most hectic schedule ever with the fights and the movies right now and adding a whole other career on top of that is a tall order."

Really, you shouldn't expect to ever see her in a pro wrestling ring outside of the videos she releases on her Instagram. Feel free to hope that changes sometime down the line, of course, but she's pretty well set up in life right now.

In the full interview she also talks about meeting CM Punk and telling him "I love you". Watch it below:
