Although Shawn Michaels has been retired for almost four full years now, you can relive his glory through various home video releases WWE has put out over the years. Perhaps none of them will top today's (Tues., Feb. 11, 2014) release, however, which you can pick up at WWEShop.com by clicking here.

Shawn Michaels: Mr. WrestleMania.

There are those who feel "The Heartbreak Kid" is the greatest wrestler of all time -- this writer chief among them -- and one need look no further than his track record at the "Showcase of the Immortals". He was great every time he went out to the ring but he took his game to a whole new level when he was on the biggest stage in the most meaningful matches.

As Jim Ross put it before Michaels' historic match with Stone Cold Steve Austin at WrestleMania 14, "Nobody has ever -- EVER -- outperformed Shawn Michaels in a big match situation."

Truer words were never spoken.

That's Michaels' legacy in a nutshell. When Triple H went down to injury in early 2007, WWE was forced to scrap a planned match with John Cena in the main event of WrestleMania 22. Instead, Michaels was brought in to do the job and tear the house down along the way, and that's exactly what he did.

He also retired Ric Flair in the best match "The Nature Boy" had taken part in in years, worked the ladder match that inspired an entire generation of young wrestlers against Razor Ramon, and put together two matches with Undertaker that may never be matched in quality for as long as WrestleMania lives.

Here's the full catalog of matches offered on the DVD. It should be noted there will be commentary lead-ins for each one:

  • The Twin Towers (WrestleMania 5)
  • The Orient Express (WrestleMania 6)
  • Haku & The Barbarian (WrestleMania 7)
  • Tito Santana (WrestleMania 8)
  • Tatanka (WrestleMania 9)
  • Razor Ramon (WrestleMania 10)
  • Diesel (WrestleMania 11)
  • Bret Hart (WrestleMania 12)
  • Stone Cold Steve Austin (WrestleMania 14)
  • Chris Jericho (WrestleMania 19)
  • Kurt Angle (WrestleMania 21)
  • Mr. McMahon (WrestleMania 22)
  • John Cena (WrestleMania 23)
  • Ric Flair (WrestleMania 24)
  • Undertaker (WrestleMania 25)
  • Undertaker (WrestleMania 26)

That list includes every match he took part in, including his early work teaming with Marty Jannetty as The Rockers, excluding the WrestleMania 20 triple threat main event opposite Triple H and Chris Benoit.

That one isn't included for obvious reasons. It's almost a shame, too, because that was quite possibly the best triple threat match of all time, and certainly one of the best WrestleMania headliners in history.

Even without it, Michaels put together such an incredibly strong string of matches that only seemed to get better as his career went on. In fact, the best of the bunch were his last two. If you were to rank this list, the matches that took place while he was in his athletic prime couldn't hold a candle to the work he did late in his career.

Again, that's what makes him so amazing.
