Roman Reigns has been out of action for months now, but rumors have him making a return in December. That would be a full month before the Royal Rumble. Still, he told GameSpot in a recent interview that when he does come back, he's gunning for everyone on the roster and a Rumble win would suit him well.
Reigns comes in at around the 30 minute mark in the video below:
On his former Shield stablemates working at the top while he's out:
"Yeah, I mean, it's always tough when you have a situation like this, being on the sideline. The way I look at it, I'm a starter, you know what I mean? I'm a first string guy; I belong in the game, I don't come out of the game. I've had this hernia for a long time, and even in football I just learned how to play with it because when you have injuries that means you're missing games, you're missing time, missing stats, missing money. There's a lot of things on the line here: Positioning, number one contendership, there's so many different things that I'm missing out on but at the same time, being a positive person I've gotta think that everything happens for a reason. These guys, they're doing their thing for a reason, this is happening to me for a reason. But when I get back, it's balls to the walls. I'm unleashing hell on everybody. I don't care if we were brothers, sisters, whatever, father, son; I'm taking everybody and anybody out I can. It's a take no prisoner mentality is the way I'm looking at it."
On making it to WrestleMania 31:
"We've got four months. I don't see The Shield reuniting in four months -- god, I hope not. There's so much more to it than that I would think. But yeah, I think anybody wants to get their name on that card, for so many different reasons. To lock your place in history, to compete on the grandest stage of them all, to have the whole world see you, you know what I mean, there's so much pride, so much respect that goes into this. It's a tradition that we're carrying on. Getting on that card as a singles competitor, that will be a whole new level for me."
On whether or not his recovery from injury lines up with a possible surprise return at Royal Rumble:
"Yeah, I think it does. I'm not writing the history books but I think so, and I think I'm that type of player. I'm the type of guy that can be put in that position. Not everybody can... You have your lead off hitter, a get on base guy, a sacrifice fly guy, a guy who bunts; I'm a grand slam hitter, I'm a home run guy, I'm a clean up guy. So I think that fits for a guy coming back in the Royal Rumble out of nowhere. Fortunately for me, which I think is pretty cool, we've had some updates. The people have seen me, which you don't usually... that's not something that happens. ... There's some requirements, you've gotta have some things in order to just be back in the Rumble and make something happen, which I think I've shown that I can do."
