AJ Lee not interested in being famous, just doing her job well

Just days ago, it was announced that Paige and Alicia Fox would be joining the cast of Total Divas for the second half of season three, which will start airing on Jan. 4, 2015, on the E! channel. That again led many to ponder whether or not current WWE Divas Champion AJ Lee would ever do the show.

She told Turnbuckle Weekly she will not and her reasoning sounds awfully familiar:

"It's been well documented for the second season they tried to get me on board. I'm not interested in being famous. I'm interested in doing my job and doing it well and that's wrestling and that's what I love. I could do it, but I wouldn't do it. I'm just happy being who I am on TV two days a week and on live events and then going into my private life, and into my little hole in the middle of nowhere and having no one talk to me about my private life."

That might as well be a quote straight from her husband, CM Punk. That's not to say she's taken on his personality or his interests, necessarily, but perhaps this is part of what drew him to her in the first place. The two share a deep love for professional wrestling and an intense drive to be the best at it. Fame, in their eyes, is an unfortunate side effect.

So let's respect their privacy and enjoy the fact that at least we still get to watch AJ do work twice a week in WWE.
