BREAKING: Fans don't really hate John Cena all that much

John Cena is a polarizing figure in the pro wrestling world, but hatred for him is apparently exclusive to WWE shows.

There's no sense in questioning whether or not John Cena is a polarizing figure in the world of professional wrestling. The reactions he gets when WWE visits arenas across the world is enough evidence of that. Put simply, some fans love him but a lot of fans hate his stinkin' guts.

But that only seems to apply to the live event setting.

Indeed, in a recent interview with the Busted Open Radio show, which you can hear on Sirius 92, XM 208 and on the app on Sports Zone, Cena's girlfriend, Nikki Bella, talked about how fans react to him when he's out in the world.

"Actually you know everyone's really cool and sweet to him. I think it's more a fun thing for the fans when you're live at a show to do the Cena chants. So I think that's more fun for the crowd but when we're out in the public and the times that I've been with him, everyone is so sweet to him. Everyone wants to meet him and get his autograph. And he does that for everyone. So it's-I only see that type of stuff when we're actually at shows. So I think it's just more fun for the audience because he is the face of the company. He's been the face of the company for a long time so it's like they're having fun with him."

You wouldn't necessarily expect to hear stories of fans trying to pick fights with Cena when he's on his own time, of course, but to hear that everyone is generally sweet to him is interesting. The question that prompted the above answer was how fans hate for Cena affects their lives together, and the answer is that it really doesn't.

If nothing else, it's good to see that most fans let the show be the show and treat it that way outside of it.
