The Charlotte Observer has reported that a Mecklenburg judge has issued an arrest warrant for Ric Flair over his failure to pay his estranged wife Jacqueline Beems over $32,000 in spousal support. The court order was made on July 3rd, but Flair can avoid jail if he pays what he owes Beems.
As we reported in February, their divorce battle had become particularly nasty with Beems accusing Flair of adultery and owing her thousands of dollars in alimony, and Flair countering that Beems was a barbarous, cruel and vicious alcoholic that once shattered a glass object over his forehead, and thus he needed a protective order against her.
In what now looks like a revenge move, TMZ reported last Sunday that there was also an arrest warrant out on Beems for making harassing phone calls last October to Flair's new girlfriend Wendy Barlow.
Earlier today, Beems turned herself in and was released on a $500 unsecured bond after being charged with the misdemeanour crime.
Brad Smith, Beems' attorney, claimed that his client doesn't know where her estranged husband is, called the accusations of harassment "unfounded and outlandish" and also told the Charlotte Observer that "Miss Fliehr is eager to have her day in court on this as well".
The fact that Flair has been skipping out on his financial obligations again should come as no surprise given his long track record of bad debts that once got so bad he faced home eviction.
