Earlier this week our resident rumor monger Eric B. Stephen brought word that former WWE champion Ultimate Warrior was likely to be included in the upcoming WWE 2K14 video game that will be released in October, the first in the new series since leaving THQ.
Now, reports from both the Wrestling Observer and PWInsider are confirming as much.
Indeed, the WWE Games Twitter account has been tweeting out hints of the big announcement -- and they're obvious, too, like "hails from Parts Unknown" and "Is not in the Hall of Fame" -- accompanied by close up shots of Warrior. According to the Observer, the announcement will happen tomorrow and Warrior will represent the big get for the new game, much like Brock Lesnar and Mike Tyson were big gets in video games in year's past.
Apparently, Warrior even filmed a commercial.
When Lesnar came back to work with WWE to be part of one of its video games, it was the start of a working relationship that has blossomed into a lengthy contract. He may only make occasional appearances, mostly on big pay-per-view (PPV) shows, but there was a time when the thought of Brock ever coming back to do anything with the promotion was crazy.
The same can be said for Warrior, who hasn't had the best of relations with the company for some time now. This should renew the calls for his induction into the Hall of Fame and open the door for a one off appearance or two.
Excited?
