When news came out that the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony, which will be broadcast this coming Tuesday night (April 9, 2013) at 10 p.m ET on USA, wouldn't feature Mick Foley, both fans and "The Hardcore Legend" let out a collective moan. Hell, the artist formerly known as Mankind even went so far as to say he would try to make the company look stupid for leaving him off television.
Well don't cry for Mrs. Foley's baby boy just yet, Cagesiders. According to the man himself, or rather Santa Claus, he will indeed be making the show. Foley teased the news on Twitter:
I just got some GREAT news! I will share this INCREDIBLE RT in just a few minutes...RIGHT HERE on Twitter. Get those tears of joy ready!
— Mick Foley (@realmickfoley) April 4, 2013
Then we got Santa actually breaking the news:
Don't worry @realmickfoley - I had a nice talk with @vincemcmahon and your #WWEHOF speech Will be televised. All is calm, all is bright.
— Santa Claus (@SantaClausWay) April 4, 2013
Then Foley showing his gratitude:
SANTA SAVES #WWEHOF FOR FOLEY! Thank you @santaclausway for making this happen! I can't wait for Saturday night @thegarden. #StNickForMick
— Mick Foley (@realmickfoley) April 4, 2013
And now here we are.
So it seems we'll see some variation of Bruno Sammartino, Trish Stratus, Donald Trump, and Foley on the one-hour broadcast next week. That's a lot to cram in with commercial breaks but some clever editing -- the ceremony actually takes place on Saturday night at Madison Square Garden in New York -- should do the trick.
Happy?
