Although it's a no brainer that Macho Man Randy Savage should be in the WWE Hall of Fame, considering both his credentials (not all that important in the selection process) and his drawing power (super important in the selection process), it's not often WWE actually makes mention of as much.
In the latest edition of WWE Inbox, a couple superstars make mention of him and their hopes that he'll headline next year's class:
The Miz:
"I want Randy 'Macho Man' Savage, oh yeah, dig it!"
Kofi Kingston:
"Obviously, everybody who you talk to has some memory of the Macho Man, I mean everyone used to watch him growing up. Everyone knows who he is and all the things he's done. He needs to go in there sooner or later."
As Mick Foley noted during his induction into the Hall of Fame this year, it will be difficult for the company to follow the 2013 class, perhaps the deepest in history with Foley, Bruno Sammartino, Bob Backlund, Booker T, Trish Stratus, and Donald Trump.
Savage as headliner for the 2014 class would go a long way in helping it match up though there are still quite a few hurdles in making it happen, namely the fact that Lanny Poffo is still insisting the entire family be inducted with Savage, as per his wishes before his untimely death in 2011.
It seems unlikely now, but as we've seen time and time again throughout the years, if WWE Chairman Vince McMahon wants to get something done -- like in the case of Triple H putting the full court press on Sammartino and landing him for the Hall this year -- then it can get done.
Stay tuned.
