And now it's official.
Tonight's (Feb. 11, 2013) episode of Monday Night Raw, the go home show to the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view (PPV) set for this Sunday night in New Orleans, featured a few matches/angles to complete the only Elimination Chamber match at the event with six participants all locked in.
WWE.com has the word:
After weeks of Superstars vying to qualify, the lineup for this Sunday's World Heavyweight Championship No. 1 Contender's Elimination Chamber Match is set, and for one of the six participants, entering the inhospitable Chamber may represent a return to championship greatness.
Following the news-making events of the Feb. 11 edition of Raw, Chris Jericho, Jack Swagger and Kane have been granted admission into the Chamber this Sunday. They join fellow former World Heavyweight Champions Daniel Bryan, Randy Orton and Mark Henry, all of whom qualified previously. Rey Mysterio, who had previously been slated for the bout, was forced to drop out after suffering an injury in an unprovoked attack by The World's Strongest Man on Feb. 4.
Indeed, Mysterio is out and Jericho, Swagger and Kane are in. That's along with the already announced Randy Orton, Mark Henry, and Daniel Bryan.
There are a number of ways WWE could choose to go with this but after the debut of Zeb Coulter as a mouthpiece for Swagger playing the role of the xenophobic anti-immigration heel, that would seem to indicate the creative brain trust believes a feud between the recently re-packaged Swagger and current World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio is worth exploring.
Maybe even at WrestleMania 29.
Orton is the proven draw and could be the safe play with Henry as a darkhorse and Jericho, Kane and Bryan almost surely having zero shot at winning.
Who are you picking in this, Cagesiders?
