Just a few short months ago, reports were floating around that Santa Clara and Philadelphia were the two cities in the running to host WrestleMania 31 in 2015. Well, according to new reports, from both PW Insider and the Wrestling Observer, the former city won out.
As the Observer notes, the San Francisco 49ers were key to sealing the deal with WWE. Well, that and the fact that you know Vince McMahon and company badly wanted to run a major show in the brand spankin' new Levi's Stadium before the NFL held the Super Bowl there.
WWE will beat out the NFL by a year in that regard, though Super Bowl 50 will undoubtedly be a bigger event than WrestleMania 31.
Monday Night Raw the night after the show will be held at the SAP Center in San Jose, California.
Any Cagesiders excited about the prospect of another west coast WrestleMania?
