The Rock vs. CM Punk rematch set for WWE Elimination Chamber 2013

That didn't take long. The rematch between The Rock and CM Punk is now set for the WWE Elimination Chamber pay-per-view (PPV) on Feb. 17, 2013, in New Orleans.

WWE

First it was rumored and now it is confirmed: The Rock will defend the WWE championship he won at Royal Rumble against the man he won it from, CM Punk, on Sun., Feb. 17, 2013, at the New Orleans Arena in New Orlenas, Louisiana, at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view (PPV).

It's a singles match, which means there will only be one Elimination Chamber match on the show, obviously for the world heavyweight championship.

The match was set up on Monday Night Raw just last night in Las Vegas when Punk went absolutely insane and immediately invoked the rematch clause that seemingly comes with every title match in WWE. From WWE.com:

So at Elimination Chamber, the most brutal pit stop on The Road to WrestleMania, The Rock will face his own personal demon yet again. And The People's Champion will have to be very, very careful, because CM Punk does not make the same mistake twice, and he is very, very angry. The very real opinion exists - depending whom you ask - that Punk should still be WWE Champion. And with it, the very real possibility exists - should The Rock think one victory equals winning the war - that The Brahma Bull's parade could end as soon as it began and that CM Punk will be champion again, with history in his hands for the third time.

Angry CM Punk with an ax to grind is the very best CM Punk and his performance on Raw last night alone was enough to sell this rematch. There doesn't seem to be any real chance that he'll win, as WWE would be crazy to go with Punk vs. John Cena at WrestleMania 29 over Rock vs. Cena part deux, but at the very least, we're likely looking at a few more pipe bombs dropping on "The Great One's" sizable dome.

That's good enough for me. You?
